Region of abundant natural attractions! The Easter Visayas (region 8) are a group of islands that are relatively under appreciated compared to other regions. Perhaps the area is best known for the Eastern Visayas State University, and Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center. If you enjoy nature, folk arts, and seek the simple life, then this region might be worth exploring. This region was also home to the worst damage of Typhoon Haiyan (Super Typhoon Yolanda) that left thousands of Tacloban residents homeless in 2013.
