Emerald mountains, dense rain forests, and beautiful waterfalls, oh my! The Caraga Region (region 13), is another slightly under estimated region compared to the other more popular regions. If you’re looking for quieter tourist spots where you can truly soak in the serenity of nature, then this is your region. Surfers have been enjoying the waves here for ages, but if surfing is not your thing, there is still much more to see and experience here. The region is also highly ranked in education with its local gem that is the Caraga Regional Science High School, and the ever popular Caraga Regional Hospital. They even have their own Philippine information agency that is great for weather updates for tourist spots in the region.
Although there are many great cities and villages in this region, not all are appealing to tourists. The recommended tourist destinations include: Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao City, Butuan City, Dinagat Island, and Siargao Island. The top 3 destinations by popularity are pictured below.
